Help with a rotary broach : Machinists

Broach is going .160" deep. Have the broach holder dialed in within .0005" on center. Tried doing the first .010" with the spindle off, then spinning it up for the rest, broke the broach. Tried feeding faster for the first .020" then dropping down, broke the broach. I'm out of broaches now, so I've got some time.
